I use Kagi ($10/mo) for search and translate. The Kagi Maps product is weak and I still use Google for that. I've read some comments concerning the goodwill of the company; will reevaluate in the future.
For email, I have Proton ($10/mo) behind a domain ($1/mo). I use aliases when signing up for services, eg '[email protected]'. I've spent some time changing a fraction of my online accounts to this system, as well as unlinking my 'Login with Google'. The rest are being autoforwarded from Gmail, and I will keep transfering accounts as emails come in.
VPN and Drive are also included in the Proton subscription, though I might consider spending another $5/mo for mullvad VPN.
At home, PiHole blocks known lists of trackers and ads. On the go, tailscale routes my phone's traffic through the home network, making use of the same DNS. On either one, I use Firefox + uBlock Origin (+Dark Reader, and I wish Firefox let me granularly control when I allow an extension to access a page's content. I have a massive browser extension attack on my Bingo card for 202X).
I've installed Signal and am in the process of annoying everyone I know to get off WhatsApp.
